What volunteer opportunities are there for adults?
We are always looking for volunteers to help support our Pack and Den activities. Below is a list of ways parents and family members can get involved:
- Pack Committee Member: (Registered Adult). Our Pack committee handles administrative and support tasks for the Pack. The pack committee allows the Cubmaster and den leaders to focus on working directly with the Cub Scouts. Our Pack Committee meets on the first Thursday of every month.
- Den Leader / Assistant Den Leader: (Registered Adult). An adult, usually a parent, serves as a Den Leader. They carry out the activities related to adventures as they are presented in the Cub Scout’s handbook and the Den Leader Guide.
- Help Plan a Pack Meeting: Some of our Pack meetings require additional planning and adult involvement. The Pack Meeting committee helps our leaders to plan and deliver pack meeting activities.
- Food Committee: Our food committee helps to purchase and serve food at our non-campout pack meetings like the Pinewood Derby and Blue & Gold Banquet.
- Campout Committee: Pack 457 tries to hold overnighters every quarter. Our campout committee helps to plan and execute these events including selecting locations, planning and cooking meals, and more.
- Fundraising Committee: The fundraising committee helps plan and coordinate our Pack fundraisers like our popcorn and wreath sales.
- New Member Welcome Committee: Our New Member Welcome Committee helps to plan our recruiting events and welcomes our new Scouts and their families to the Pack.
- Community Outreach Committee: The Community Outreach Committee helps organize our social media posts and other connections with the community.
