There are multiple Cub Scout Handbooks (one for each Rank / Year in the program). These books explain the specific requirements for each required and elective Adventure a Scout can complete while they work towards their rank. It also provides leaders, parents, and guardians more information on activities that can be done to complete the Adventure Requirements. What is a “Class B” Uniform?

The Class B uniform (also called the Activity Uniform) is the Pack t-shirt/sweatshirt, activity appropriate pants or shorts, and an optional scouting cap. In keeping with Boy Scouts of America rules, any previous Pack 457 t-shirt can be worn as a Class B uniform, even if it is not in the current style. The Class A uniform (also called the Field Uniform) is the uniform you expect to see a Cub Scout dressed in. It consists of the blue or khaki (for Scouts in fourth and fifth grade) button-down shirt, a neckerchief, rank-appropriate slide, and patches identifying our Council and Pack. Will my child go camping and do outdoor activities?

Yes, each Rank requires your Scout to participate in some outdoor activities (although camping is not specifically required). Each year, we plan to offer overnight activities at least every quarter. This includes: Our Fall Family Camp every October at Camp Agawam (our Council’s Cub Scout Camp) An indoor, overnight event over the winter A Spring Family Camp, typically in May, at Camp Agawam or other overnight camping location Summer Camps (Day Camp or Resident Camp) in July and August Meals are provided to all our participants at these overnights and Scouts will participate in a variety of activities arranged by

How many times will we meet each month?

You should expect to be invited to 2 or 3 Cub Scout meetings every month: Our Dens meet 1 or 2 times each month to work with other Scouts in their grade to complete adventures and work towards their rank requirements. All of our Dens come together at least monthly for a Pack meeting or other outing. Pack Meetings are generally the 3rd Friday of each month.
