RSVPing for events is important as it provides our Leadership Team with the information needed to plan the event and to make sure we can accomodate all the participants. The Pack uses an online tool called Scoutbook to manage our Pack and Den schedule of events. In most cases, you will RSVP for events using this application UNLESS otherwise instructed in the event description.
You will also receive automated event reminders from Scoutbook (typically 2 weeks before and 3 days before scheduled events). These emails include a link stating If you haven’t already, please RSVP for this event through Scoutbook that will take you directly to the event to complete your registration.

Viewing Calendar Events
Scoutbook maintains a calendar of Pack and Den events.
- Login to Scoutbook.
- Click on My Dashboard
- Click on Events (if it is not already expanded).
You should now see a listing of upcoming events for the Pack and your Scout’s Den. If you prefer to view the event list as a calendar, click My Calendar.
Clicking on an event in the event list or in My Calendar will open the Event’s page where you can find additional information and RSVP..
Adding a Scoutbook Calendar to your Phone / Computer
Calendars in Scoutbook can be added to the calendar application you use on your phone or computer. To do this, you will need the calendar’s unique URL:
- Navigate to the My Calendar screen (see instructions above).
- Below the current month’s calendar, you will see a list of calendars being displayed. You should see Pack 457 and your Scout(s)’ Den calendars listed. If a calendar you expect is missing:
- Click the Gear icon on the right of the the black bar at the top of the page.
- Make sure there is a checkmark next to each calendar you want to view in the My Calendar screen.
- Click Set to save your selection.
- For each calendar you want to add to your calendar software:
- Click on the Subscribe link after the calendar name.
- This will display the calendar’s unique iCal URL. Copy the URL to your clipboard.
- Add the URL to your calendar software of choice. (Consult your application’s help file to determine the best way to do this.
Submitting or Updating an RSVP
- Navigate to the Event’s page on Scoutbook.
- Complete the following steps for every member of your family who will be attending the event:
- Locate and click on their name under the Please RSVP heading
- This will display the RSVP window, click on YES if the individual will be attending the event or NO if they will not be attending the event. (All users are automatically RSVPed as MAYBE. Please choose YES if you think you may be able to attend, but aren’t sure.)
- Your RSVP is automatically saved after you select YES, NO, or MAYBE.
- If you need to adjust the RSVP after submitting, just update your response by following these instructions.
- If you will be joined by one or more family members or friends who are not listed under the Please RSVP header:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll see the Comments section.
- In the text box, enter the number of additional people who will be attending and their name (e.g. “+1 James). Include any additional information that may be relevant.
- Click the Post Comments button to submit your comment.
- If you need to adjust the RSVP comments after submitting, click the Edit button on your existing comment to change your response. If your comment is no longer needed, click the Delete button.
